Good news for this Laptop as this model is having the higher end 300 nits 72% NTSC or 99% sGB panel which is very difficult to find at this price range. Also, both the memory slots are user upgradable and you can go up to 64GB, max supported by the Processor.

For those that want this and upgrade RAM and second SSD. https://youtu.be/3HxPcRQlND0
Not here in Dell site. But you can do it yourself by getting a 8GB DDR4 3200 sodimm ram and then adding it to the free slot. Costs around $30.

Wish this was the new Inspiron 14 with the 14.5" 16:10 display. Hard to go back to a 16:9 laptop display after using a 16:10 (I had an LG Gram 17).

This is also new Inspiron 14 from 5000 series. I think you're referring the 14 incher from 7000 series which has a WHD+ 2560X1600 16:10 Display

There is also a $100 amex offer that can be applied to this if you have it on your card.

Could be a deal after stacking various offers. Is the build quality on these comparable to a Lenovo Thinkbook? More like an Ideapad? Or even worse?

Care to elaborate? Are we talking preferred CB sites, or actual discounts/coupons not mentioned in the OP?

This is a pretty good deal. I picked up the previous generation with an i7 from Costco a few weeks ago for $650 and it was a decent laptop. Ended up returning it when I found a better deal on a ROG G14 with a dedicated graphics card though.

Battery life isn't phenomenal, but for an entry level laptop or something that won't be on the move a huge amount, its solid.

Been looking for something that can smoothly run Minecraft that's small enough for the kiddo to use, I assume this will do the trick?
