Have been using it for an year... Doesn't cost you anything. They give you points based on your usage reduction on particular days. These points can be cashed via paypal or Amazon Gift cards.

I believe you have to wait until OhmConnect gets final approval to connect to your utility. Mine still shows "pending". So it's not an instant process.
