Ohhh Grasshopper, ChromeOS doesn't play nice with printers....by design.

Still sitting on my order, have to decide whether to p/u by next week.

Just for comparison, I saw a similar brother monochrome laser all-in-one at samsclub (MFC-L2717DW) for $200. Idk if its specs (eg 34vs26ppm) are significant enough to justify the extra $60, but noticed the 2717 has a 2 year warranty, and this 2690 only 1 year. I've never used a printer warranty, just wondering if there's a reason they put 2year on that model, or if it's just because that one is sold through a warehouse club.

I have what I understand is a dell rebranded brother monochrome laser (not all-in-one) for the past few years, that has been excellent. Would not hesitate to get another brother, just don't know that I want their absolute bottom of the line model either.

Pulled the trigger. Asked my wife in January if we should buy the color Canon for $199, but since our old Canon was still working, we decided we didn't need it. Getting basically the same printer functionality I had, but wasn't willing to give up the scanner and seems like a reasonable price for third party toners.

Damn, I just bought a $99 Canon MF232W. I would have paid the extra $40 for the ADF and duplex on this one, oh well.
