Located 30 minutes from Cancun Airport in Playa del Carmen, 5* Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya, a Hyatt brand, via Travelzoo have a 3-night stay for 2 people starting from $595. Travelzoo members (free to join) recieve daily complimentary breakfast for 2. Extend stay with extra nights starting at $199. Up to 2 children ages 11 and younger can stay for no additional fee. Breakfast for third and fourth guests will be available for additional costs.
Local taxes and 15% resort fee (per guest, per night) is additional and will be paid directly to the hotel. The resort fee covers on-property bikes and golf cart transportation, waterway ferry transportation to other Mayakoba resorts, Wi-Fi, Kimbo Kids Club, minibar in guest rooms (no alcohol), flip-flops in guest room, sauna and steam room access, self-parking and transport to golf course.

Prices for Punta Cana should be cheaper...
Punta cana is a seedy ghetto. Have you ever been? No such thing as 5-star anything there. I can't even imagine it post covid, likely a total dumpster. I'd start the refund process now.
