How's this going to play most games? Dont need max specs, but if I want to hook to a gaming monitor and play 98% of games on decent quality, is this my guy?

Should be fine for most modern games on medium settings at 1080P.

I got this yesterday (will be going back for price adjustment) battery life is weak so I'm still deciding if it's a keeper or not.

Would pay maybe $449 for this. Pass.
Show me a gaming laptop with a dedicated video card at your price. Otherwise back under your bridge.

It's a gaming laptop, that's expected in this market segment. Especially one this low priced.

How is the screen? I played around with it in store and seemed like a nice laptop except for the screen. Gamers probably don't care. But for watching media content, I think I wouldn't be happy. Though a crazy bright Costco store isn't the same as in home.

I don't know if you just like to TC or not, but let us know when you saw a deal with this spec for $500.

It's average, 1080p is not enough for 17in screen imo. But it's pretty bright and smooth because of the 144 refresh rate. I don't game I use it for stock charts, which is more than enough.

Here is something I posted about the other Costco laptop with a 1650. The Ti model would be <5% faster.

----------------------------
A 1660Ti should be ~50% faster than a 1650. Or for ~70% boost you could get the GE75 Raider with 2060 that's on sale for $1160 now. A lot more money, but it has a lot of other upgrades as well.

A 1650 is fine playing most games, but it does struggle with some newer ones. A brief example of benchmarks on 1080p High settings:

Rise of the Tombraider: .... 61
The Witcher 3: .... 63
GTA V: .... 76
Doom: .... 109
Overwatch:.... 140
Watch Dogs 2: .... 52
Dirt 2: ... 112
Destiny 2: .... 72
Rocket League: ... 135
Need for Speed Playback:.... 78
Fortnight.... 73 (Ultra)
Far Cry 5:.... 54
F1 2018:... 91
Shadow of the Tombraider:... 49
Assassin's Creed Odyssey... 46
COD:BO:... 72
Hitman 2.... 60
Battlefield 5... 60
Apex Legends... 65
COD:MW... 56
RDR2... 33
Hitman 3.... 60
Cyberpunk.... 24
AC Valhalla.... 24
Watch Dogs Legion.... 42
FIFA 21.... 141
Star Wars Squadrons.... 99
Flight Sim 2020... 27
F1 2020... 84

It's got mediocre color gamut, brightness, and response time (gamers do care about that!). It's a budget screen. The GE75 Raider at Costco with the 2060 is much better.

OP... should put Costco in the title.
