The big deal these days is indeed expanding the functionality of the Chromecast. I've only seen certain brands referenced, but perhaps someone has already found a comprehensive document confirming the secret for compatibility with Chromecast expansion(?).

Good luck!

I ended up ordering this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08C5FWQND for $12.

It specifically says it works with the Chromecast with Google TV (what a mouthful of terrible marketing there).

Only 1 jack, but I just want to add a webcam. Not worried about storage or ethernet. I can use Bluetooth to add a keyboard and mouse.

And it's cheap.

If you need more jacks, there's this one for $22 that is recommended several places:

https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B085XZGVN5

It has several USB, ethernet, HDMI, etc.

The S21 detected the Surface ethernet adapter and 2 USB flash drives I tested. No Dex popups.

You got me wondering though, so I decided to experiment a bit.

My Dell Thunderbolt 3 dock fast charged and detected ethernet. No notifications about video. I didn't happen to have anything plugged into the USB drives.

My USB-C HP travel dock...., well dang, it popped up with Dex and next thing I knew I had a desktop version of my phone on the monitor. I definitely need to play with this, looks fun. But I'm heading home now, so that's all I have time for tonight.

$45 "Renewed" at Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/HP-USB-C-M...B082MTPCXR if you're interested.

I dont do a lot with Dex but just played around with it. Wanna say i got it working on a USB-c adapter like this one from amazon but will go back and check. Got a galaxy s7+ tab and was curious if the one you posted was supporting Dex - will be heading to Microcenter anyway since they sent me the annual free flash drive offer laugh out loudlaugh out loud

Microcenter.com is showing "no longer carried", I presume this is system wide by now.
