Personally, I use this instead of a garage door opener left in the 2nd car in the driveway. Much more secure

They do it because it's part of the integration with Ring eco-system, which in turn is owned by Amazon. Ring + this garage opener allows you to participate in a program where Amazon drivers 'securely' drop your packages inside your garage instead of your doorstep.

Hopefully this info will help out someone.

I got interested in this new model because it has buttons labeled 1 and 2 on the front of the unit, and I hoped they had finally added buttons to open the doors since I would like this to also replace the old buttons in the garage. However, the numbered buttons in the front are just a relocation of the setup buttons that used to be on the side of the unit.

One doesn't require Ring for key delivery. I have this device, don't own a ring, and have all packages securely delivered within my garage. Hadn't failed me once in over 50 deliveries.

Does this work with LED bulbs in the garage area? I heard several reports that the earlier version had some issues.

How does this compare to Meross ? Just got and installed that from few weeks ago when it was posted on SD here. A bit surprised that this is even cheaper than that !

For what it's worth, I bought this about a month ago (after leaving the garage door open overnight a few times), and we've loved it. I set it up so that every night at 10pm, if a door is open, it'll automatically go down. I've also found myself using the app instead of the outdoor keypad. The set-up was REALLY easy, too. For $20, this is almost a no-brainer for anyone even remotely considering it.

You can buy an Alexa-enabled relay board which you can wire up to the opener and have your own solution for less than $15. Been working great for over a year for me. I love being able to have Alexa close the door when I'm in the house 150ft away (or across town if it starts raining).

If you use home assistant don't bother with this. It routinely updates and breaks the integration.

Thats a bad idea for a voice opener. A "smart robber" would just go to an open window and yell out "Alexa, open garage"

If you have a Genie SilentMax, these MyQ will not work. I've spent countless hours with Chamberlain's customer service (they even sent me the black version G0301 to try) and none of the MyQ will work. Tried many pairing methods. Only works as a monitor (reports whether the door is opened or closed) but will not trigger the opener.

Alexa can open it if you run it through SimpleCommands.

Good question. I have the previous version and required troubleshooting for hours until I realized it was the LED bulbs causing interference when trying to close it.
