1 - does this work well on an iPhone app? I read a couple issues and thought I'd ask here
2 - If you need an additional sensor, can I just buy two of these at $20 and use the included sensor instead of the extra $27 sensor by itself?
Aside from that, I love the fact that 1) I get in-garage delivery to prevent thieves from stealing my packages and 2) I can open and close my garage door from my phone. So if you don't already have a smart garage opener, $20 is a good value to add this functionality. Isn't that the retail cost of one Hue bulb?
To work around the odd limitations around Alexa or Google integration, I recommend Simple Commands.
Linking your myQ account to Google Assistant and IFTTT is free for a limited time. No credit card required.
But operating (controlling, monitoring and notifications) via the MyQ app is always free - which most of us want out of this device.
The issue is each of these motors are separated by walls, but still attached to the house

Biggest annoyance with this is that on the iOS app (apparently Android does not have this issue), it doesn't keep you logged in. So when you open the app it has to log back in every time, which is annoying, especially if you're right at the edge of your WiFI or have a weak cellular signal.
Only other issue is that the beeps it plays when closing are SUPER loud. And I get that's the point -- for safety -- but it's still too loud. So I put a bit of duct tape over the speaker grill and it's still perfectly hearable but not quite so shrill.
I originally thought it was a big deal that you couldn't directly link this to Alexa, though I did find a way to do it by running it through SimpleCommands. I thought I would use voice command a lot (I'm a big user of voice-command lighting and other home automation) but I've only used it once or twice in about a year for the garage door. I wouldn't miss not having that functionality.
I still think having one of these is totally worth it though. Even the ability to just check the app from bed to see if you remembered to close the door.

The best feature is that you know if you left the garage open and can close it remotely. I never left my garage door open, but constantly get paranoid thinking if I closed it or not. This buys me a piece of mind and reduces life's stress. Definitely recommended.
I have the actual Chamberlain garage door opener and it works great.
I love knowing if the garage door is open or even the exact time someone left the house.

Yes, you can buy 2 of these deals and use the sensor on an additional door. Usually cheaper than buying the sensor alone (I did pick one up at Walmart clearance for $10 though) and as a bonus you've got a backup hub.
