This has been on sale for a while now... several months.

And while I love Makita gold bits, this one is the biggest piece of garbage ever. It it doesnt keep a bit on to save its life. I bought 4 of them a while back (when they first went on sale) thinking "I can use my wobble bits, or regular impact bits with my impact driver." .... wrong. Theres a reason this is so cheap... because it is worthless unless you are planning to use it as a decoration.
I have the ½in version. It's infinitely better than the cheap harbor freight ones. I know it's not the new XPS but I can't see that being a real disadvantage with this bit.

I liked makita gold over the XPS in terms of driver bits... but this thing cant keep a socket on it no matter what I do. Are you gluing them on?

I just got this and am about to use it for the first time. If it sucks I'll report back. If I don't then assume it works as beautifully as it looks. I might buy another simply because it's so beautiful and I've never seen anything like it. They don't make a 1/4" do they?

Great way to round off your fasteners.

Much better to get a standard wobble adapter for a socket wrench and do it by hand in situations where you need that extra 10-15 degrees of angle

Do you mean "round off your sockets"? This socket adapter doesn't contact the fasteners, right? Just trying to figure out if I'm missing something.

I bought this several weeks ago. Haven't used it yet, but it sure looks pretty, thus, maybe good for a decoration as the previous poster implied. I was going to buy the 1/2" but y'alls comments making me think twice.

I needed a large torx bit to drive a spax power lag and I was shocked at how cheap it was for a Makita bit shipped next day delivery.

2 pack t-40 : $1.5 Makita A-96609 Impactx T40 Torx 1″ Insert Bit, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725ST...UTF8&psc=1

2-pack T-15 -$1.5 : Makita A-96556 Impactx T15 Torx 1″ Insert Bit, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0728DM...HB3B?psc=1

2-pack- T-20: $1: Makita A-96562 Impactx T20 Torx 1″ Insert Bit, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725ST...SG5B?psc=1

I tend to use T25 the most but that's $5. T-20 is pretty common as well tho.

for Makita seems like a good deal

@real__cheap... I never even knew these existed so not speaking from experience... But maybe he means the this attachment causes the sockets to slip and winds up stripping the bolt/nut?

Pretty sure he meant fasteners. Screws/bolts are usually much softer then tools/sockets so if you are coming at it at the wrong angle the bolt/screw hole rounds off
