Don't count on US made cords. I bought a few 50ft 12/3 cords on a SD last year and everyone I received was made in China despite the ad saying US made. I tried to contact Southwire about it but never got a reply to my e-mail. YMMV.

In fact, I received some pretty shady packaging now that I recall. Here are some pictures of what was sent to me.

got the 100 foot back in March for 27.59, that was a good deal however made in Vietnam not US.

got the 100 foot back in March for 27.59, that was a good deal however made in Vietnam not US.

I believe this is a normal price. I had been looking at a few last week and I saw it listed at this price then. Will continue to wait for a sale price on the sale "normal" price.

I ordered two 50' cords on 3/7 and one 100' cord on 3/26. All were made in the US but other people got made in Taiwan 100' cords so YMMV.

The most probable explanation for this change is updates to the content labeling rules rather than any change in the manufacturing process. Without a doubt the parts are getting assembled in the USA and depending upon the unique components requirements for extension cords they'd change the labeling based upon some favorable allowance given them. Slickdeals is a large community so where's our resident FTC expert? ​laugh out loud
