PSA: For those in states where you're considering enrolling in the utility program to save money on the thermostat, make sure you carefully read the terms and conditions on those programs. For my state and local utility (and I assume other states and utility companies) the pricing model changes, in some cases drastically, by introducing different levels of peak pricing and sometimes even direct control over your thermostat. Whether it can save you money in the long-term is possible, but just be sure you fully understand what the program entails before jumping in with both feet.

Not required, but yes - if you want a c-wire and don't want to call an electrician - there are less elegant solutions like these. I am comfortable having the Nest on just two wires.
How do you set up without c wire? I installed but says "c wire required" and to call a professional to have one installed

No go for me with Puget Sound Energy. I see the $25 price when I add it to the cart but on checkout it says:
"You have received the maximum incentives for a product category and are ineligible for any further discounts. Please click here for more information on PSE instant discounts."

That's curious as I never got a discounted thermostat before.

c wire is not required for nest. you can just pull out the nest and charge it on usb cable. then plug in back in after fully charge. I do this maybe every 2 months on winter to avoid it go dead. I bought a c wire power supply. didnt install it yet. maybe next winter I will.

      Hold your horses, now.

      T3007ES vs GA01334-US

      https://www.bestbuy.com/site/goog...Id=4346501

GA01334- doesn't control AC and controls only Heat?
      GA01334 - Doesn't work with non google products ?

Also can one smart thermostat replace two different thermostats in two different levels / zones?

      TIA

Unfortunately didn't work for me in Cali. I'm only getting gas with PG&E, electricity through SMUD. Friend was also denied due to having solar panels.

Really easy but if you don't know a single thing about electric connections, I'd just pay someone to do it.

For those with ordering with PG&E/Franklin, has yours shipped yet?

Also, it looks like PG&E has an additional $50 rebate. So I'm getting the thermostat for FREE and receiving $50 back!

PG&E with GAS Only are most likely NOT qualified.

I just tried to create an account on the website, after filling in all account information and answering some questions, one of them asks if you also have Electricity with PG&E. I answered No, and then submit it says not qualified for this program.
