PSA: For those in states where you're considering enrolling in the utility program to save money on the thermostat, make sure you carefully read the terms and conditions on those programs. For my state and local utility (and I assume other states and utility companies) the pricing model changes, in some cases drastically, by introducing different levels of peak pricing and sometimes even direct control over your thermostat. Whether it can save you money in the long-term is possible, but just be sure you fully understand what the program entails before jumping in with both feet.

I got it to work through Energize DE. My understanding being "DPL" as short for Delmarva Power and Light when signing up. HTH.
Has your shipped? My credit card was charged for shipping promptly, but no shipping notice yet.

Most probably no. I use PG&E for both electricity and gas, but got denied as I have solar panel. No idea why.
Probably because they want to control your A/C when the grid is strained, but if they can't also guarantee control over your power inverter then they veto any solar system install.

Mine has not shipped either. I bought some other light bulbs and stuff that has shipped, but not the Nest.

PG&E customer here - placed order for the Ecobee on 4/13 and it still hasn't shipped. Must be nice running an e-commerce outlet with guaranteed government/public utility-subsidized sales. You can take your sweet time with all aspects of running your business without fear of losing customers.

At least for NY and NJ, big immediate rebates as posted are gone.

Any PG&E customer in Bay Area using SVCE (Silicon Valley Clean Energy, https://www.svcleanenergy.org/) for electricity generation and PG&E for delivery can confirm the rebate would not be a problem?

http://homeenergyrewardsshop.com/...ermostats/ still shows the Nest as free after self installation.

For PG&E, has anyone received their rebate yet?

Home Energy Rewards Shop: "If you self-install your thermostat your self-installation rebate will be mailed to you 2-3 weeks after your thermostat is activated and online."

I'm in the middle of week 3 and still no rebate.

This might be a dumb question but what does "install" entail? Do I actually need to hook the thermostat to all the wiring, or can I install just by turning it on and connecting to Wifi?

Does any one know if I can gift my friend the thermostat and still get the rebate?
Im in CA with PG&E ..
My friend is in different state.
The description on PG&E home rewards website for nest learning thermostat says
You will be charged $199.00 at checkout. If you self-install your thermostat your self-installation rebate will be mailed to you 2-3 weeks after your thermostat is activated and online.

Should I just activate in CA and then gift ( which technically isnt a gift anymore)
Has any one tried gifting and still got rebate
