PSA: For those in states where you're considering enrolling in the utility program to save money on the thermostat, make sure you carefully read the terms and conditions on those programs. For my state and local utility (and I assume other states and utility companies) the pricing model changes, in some cases drastically, by introducing different levels of peak pricing and sometimes even direct control over your thermostat. Whether it can save you money in the long-term is possible, but just be sure you fully understand what the program entails before jumping in with both feet.

For PG&E, has anyone received their rebate yet?

Home Energy Rewards Shop: "If you self-install your thermostat your self-installation rebate will be mailed to you 2-3 weeks after your thermostat is activated and online."

I'm in the middle of week 3 and still no rebate.
I came here to ask this very question....I still have not received anything from Home Energy Rewards...

      Same. Nothing yet.
I wanted to clarify, those that did this through PGE (Home Energy Rewards Shop), do not have to fill out anything to get this rebate? Just simply install and activate and the rebate is suppose to come in the mail? I want to make sure I'm not missing something here as it's been over 3 weeks now.

      FYI
      PG&E customer in Norcal.
Received my $100.00 refund from Home Energy Rewards today for the nest thermostat.
      Order date: 04/14
      Received: 04/27
      Installed: 05/02
      Rebate Received: 05/22
I had sent them a email to ask about the rewards process after installing the thermostat. This is the response I got from them
"Your self-installation rebate will be mailed to you 3-4 weeks after your thermostat is activated and online at your registered address. We'll use the serial number on the device to confirm an activation date with the manufacturer. If you have connected the device to the nest app, no additional steps are necessary.

If you have additional questions, please call 855-314-9967 Monday – Friday from 7am - 7pm or email us at [email protected]."

I connected the thermostat using the Google-Home App as I was not able to use the Nest App with this thermostat.

      Here's my timeline:
      Ordered: 4/12
      Received: 4/20
      Installed: 4/22
      EDIT:
      Mailed 5/25
      Rebate received: 5/28

      E-mail I received from them: 5/19
Thank you for your order from the Home Energy Rewards online store. I'm sorry to hear that your rebate has not arrived.

Self-installation rebates are typically mailed 3-4 weeks after the thermostat is activated and online at the registered address. We use the serial number on the device to confirm an activation date with the manufacturer. No additional steps are necessary.

The program team has confirmed the activation date already. The rebate will be processed this week. We are aware of USPS delivery delays so the rebate may take a little longer to arrive.

      EDIT: Received 5/28!

Got mine today but won't be using it. I currently have a nest, but with this new one you can't use the nest app nor use the temperature sensors in different rooms (which we use.)

Self installed in property at Nevada day 20 (I didn't installed in CA because it seems I don't have C line in my home and I
can't figure it out how to add it to my furnace)
Rebated check showed in USPS Informed Delivery day 40

      Didn't see Nevada.

NVEnergy just did a (free) residential energy assessment for me. Part of the assessment included a free ecobee thermostat (parts & installation included).

See attached for their service areas in Nevada.
Did they give you one or one for each unit to replace? Can they control your thermostat, or do you have full control over it?

Be careful of enrolling with things like the TX energy wise program. It can give them control to turn your temp up on hot days to conserve energy
