Fair enough. I used Chase Flex to get 5% off and also some GCs and the $5 off $50 coupon.

I thought this was regular price? It was $208 last week at HD and seems to be $199 pretty often.

I don't know. I searched on SD about that model and plenty of threads showing it for 209 or 199 as front page or popular deals so I am not sure 208 is that much of a regular price. Camelcamelcamel says average price is 230

Yeah it's been at that level so often that maybe people stopped posting.

I love mine. It's a great alternative to 10 sliders priced in $400+ range IMO. All basic DIY projects can be done with 8 crosscuts - flooring, trim, framing, decking, fencing. Some hardwood stock will come in 10+ width but I'm willing to flip those boards when I have to. 715 is pretty compact so I finally have a dust enclosure/cabinet for my miter saw - makes the "shop" so much cleaner.

Single bevel, I will pass, but that's still a thumbs up.

Quite the turd and totally geared toward the framing carpenter hack. Do your research.

Definitely having trouble navigating the world of miter saws. Can you recommend a source for unbiased research?

Yes, it was $208 on Amazon at the same time that ended on April 9th..... But, if you need it now, $219 is not terrible.

================

Everything seems to be going up in price from the ongoing debasement of the dollar, so I would not get wired into waiting on the low of the lows of yesterday if you need it now. But, if you need to build another shelf to store it on, then yea, waiting could save $20 or so.

From framing to finish carpentry including crown molding, this saw, or the double bevel is on most residential/commercial job sites for carpenters, glaziers/iron workers that install storefront and curtain wall systems, even plumbers cutting schedule 40 and 80 pipe.

But yea, it could be a bit much for a hobbyist...

Youtube is your friend.... Only you know what you need a miter saw for, whereas they are as cheap as less than a $100 to well over a $1,000.

Personally, I started out with radial arm saws that do everything and more, such as rip.... and today, nice used ones can be found cheap ----many people are afraid of them and they can be dangerous, especially if you don't use the correct blade that is negative rake to pull, but positive rake will work if you push..... Then again, same is true for sliding miter saws. From Craigslist, I bought a nice 10" radial arm saw with stand for $65 last year and can consistently find them for around a $100... pass on the junk ones. You need to learn how to set one up by downloading a manual and then good to go.
