KITS.com - Use code FREEKITS for First Pair Free (Select prescriptions only) + Shipping $9.95 YMMV

I'm just trying them for the first time. I see a lot of great reviews and the company seems to be doing this just to prove how good they are.

Use code FREEKITS and you can get a pair of their proprietary frames with lenses included. You will have to pay shipping of 9.95 but for any of you glasses wearers out there- you know that's really nothing for a new pair or even a beater pair.

I've attached a screenshot from the email I received after ordering. Just shows their commitment.

They also carry name brand frames and you can use insurance for it too. They even offer virtual eye exams, though I'm not quite sure how effective that is. I just went with their KITS brand frame to take advantage of the deal. Otherwise, you can still use the coupon for $69 towards any other frames. All of their prices online already includes prescription lenses.

I ordered the discovery frames, uploaded my prescription (you can manually type it up too), and I did not choose to do any coatings as this is a test run. The coatings were the cheapest I've ever seen from any glasses companies. Something like 20 bucks for blue block and 20 bucks for all scratch and uv resistance and all that. All those add ons usually go well over 100 when I get new glasses typically.

Wanted to share this with everyone because 10 bucks for a new pair of prescription glasses, even without coatings or anything, is an incredible deal. Nothing to lose and they have a 60 day return window if you don't like it.

Oh and it was shipped 2 days after ordering. Ordered on the 11th. Shipping email reiterated my prescription back to me which is nice to confirm.

If anyone has used them before, please share your experience!

bad experience, changing my vote
What do you mean? That is a shame. I was able to upload my prescription and everything worked out fine for me. I paid 9.95 and have glasses on the way. Apologies if you did not have the same experience. I wonder if its specific to the kind of lens. Maybe I should modify the post to mention Standard lenses/single vision.

Got some glasses with this same offer a few months ago. Glasses were pretty nice considering they were free. I have a pretty low prescription so everything was standard. I like how the glasses fit my big head, lol.

Just unable to replicate deal, the standard lens/single vision was "unavailable" in my prescription hence the $9.95 is now $39

Thats just odd.. I mean its pretty clear as day on their website too its not like I'm hiding info lol. But oh well. I don't see this as a YMMV because you seem to be a specific outlier. Anyway, you can always take 69 off any frame lol so got that at least.

I got one a few months back from them and was very impressed with quality (London Fog frame). Much better than some other sites. Would definitely recommend for $10 for a very good pair or backup pair. Note: code will only take off up to $69
in case you pick a more expensive frame.

Good question. Checked the FAQ. Its refundable.

"Can I return my glasses if I change my mind?
You can return your glasses for any reason within 30 days of the purchase and we will even cover the return shipping. We want you to be happy with your choice and your business with us. Please just make sure you return them in the original packaging and that they haven't been damaged in any way."

The relevant bit is here:
https://www.kits.com/freeglasses.html

SO IF MY PRESCRIPTION FALLS OUTSIDE THE RANGE IT'S AN EXTRA COST?

Correct. Our "FIRST PAIR FREE" offer of KITS-brand frames still applies, but upgrading to more complex, higher index lenses whose prescriptions fall outside the range above, or, specialty lenses comes like "ScreenTime" blue light lenses, comes with an additional cost.

THAT'S AMAZING. WHAT COSTS EXTRA?

Designer Brand frames other than KITS, like Gucci, Tom Ford and Dior. But don't worry, any pair of eyeglasses over $69 are available with a $69 discount. You're still winning.

More complex prescriptions that require an upgrade to a thinner lens or premium lens coatings and other specialty lenses like "ScreenTime" blue light blocking lenses are available at an extra cost.

Shipping costs. Your new glasses ship super fast from our lab in Vancouver to get there in a day or two. The cost is $9.95. If for any reason you aren"t in love with your new glasses, returns are free as well.

WHICH FRAMES ARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE?

Base lenses, made from ultra-durable polycarbonate, are also included free if your prescriptions falls between sph (0.00 to +4.00) and cyl (0.00 to -2.00) or sph (0.00 to -4.00) and cyl (0.00 to -3.00).
