Just a note, you probably don't actually want grain free so think about supplementing their diet in addition to this.

Alternatively, their ancient grain stuff is really good but not on sale.

I think the deal on the 28 lb size at under a $ / lb just ended. If you missed that, this isn't bad

Nice. I missed the deal on 28 lb bags by a day as I was mulling it over. Just got 3 of these which qualifies for free shipping, added repeat delivery, which is easy to cancel, and total with shipping and taxes came out to $31.

Echoing above. Work with your vet on implementing a grain-free diet.

It was much better if you did the petco deal. It came out to like 65 cents a pounds or something. I bought 2 28lb bags they arrived yesterday

I'm hearing conflicting stuff about grain free dog food. Does anyone have direct experience with health issues caused by grain free food?

I think most people who look out for grain free is because their dogs are allergic. I have two dogs that are allergic and results in yeast infections and skin irritation, (not uncommon since pet food producers have a grain-free product line). And as a general practice, pet owners should supplement food with any kibble. I regularly add cooked chicken, beef, rice, carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, canned for gravy, etc. 50% kibble, and other

Just here to say that my dog has generally LOVED the TOTW food he's been given, especially the one that has bison (prairie) and fish (stream).

Also, now that I've done a lot more reading on dog foods, I'm not giving my dog a grain-free diet. There are quite a few concerns regarding the carbs that are used in these formulas (legumes, mainly) and their possible link to a fatal heart condition. Worth looking into, if you're feeding this as a steady diet.

I have dogs that are specifically allergic to grain in dog food. I've fed them straight grain free kibble on occasion with no issue; however, I do supplement kibble with other meat and vegetables. My current preferred brand is Costco/Kirkland due to pricing. But bought Taste of the Wild for years. I actually have a lot of guilt for feeding one my dogs the wrong food for a few years while he was young. Many instances of ear yeast infections and skin irritation. Vets never said anything, and diagnosed it as other issues prescribed medication. He's still holding in there, 16-17 yrs old.
