Or $1.99 @ HFT. How many and often do you actually set posts anyway?
You can get Pittsburgh post levels for $4 at HFT but they're sold in-store only. You can use them for more than setting posts. Woodworking + any type of cornering. For me, HF is a 30 minute drive, so not worth the gas and time to buy theirs unless I'm going out that way already. If you live close to one, then may be worth checking their inventory.

When it matters, do use a 2 to 4 foot (or longer) level that you have checked for plumb accuracy by flipping side to side and then end for end and once again, side to side for if the bubble is in the same exact spot. Often enough, one end could be more accurate than the other end and mark it accordingly.
That said, if in a dirt hole, this type would get you close enough to start back filling to then use a longer level for final adjustments.

Distance and cost for a special trip is often the issue when comparing delivered to your door. I can remember when driving a 100 miles for a decent burger was not an issue... but I have become more practical over time.
Good find BUT...... I must say that this is NOT a good product. The magnets on this tool can barely support the weight of the tool itself. I wouldn't recommend buying this. I also should have returned it when I had the chance.
While this would be nice to have, the price of wood right now is absolutely insane and keeps me from doing any projects. I was in Lowe's last night and it was $6.75 for an 8 foot length 2x4. I guess this works if I decide doing metal posts?
"In stock June 5th"....10 min to Harbor freight it is.
Pretty sure it was April 30th when I originally posted it. Must have gotten pushed back.

Cost of lumber has gone way up for quite some time now. Unfortunately, the quality has gone done as well.

I would order more from Harbor Freight if they had free shipping. Instead it's like $7 per order. Thirty minutes each way for me to drive to the store plus two gallons of gas for the trip. Not worth it to save $2 on a post level. Could just work an extra hour instead and use the $ for more tools.
