I have these and have been disappointed they seem to get twisted when trying to strip wire I would not recommend them.

You should get a self-adjusting/auto wire stripper rather than this IMO.

I use an Irwin [amazon.com] and it's a game changer; once you use it you will never want to fiddle with manual strippers again (That's what she said).

The irwin is just a few bucks more and well worth it IMO. When paying for strippers tip well and go for the auto kind that strips with ease laugh out loud

This and every other alternative are good. But for a regular home owner who does this maybe one time a year a razor blade should suffice. Just my two cents.

I would recommend the red and yellow handled set. I wire explosives with these all day and they are a great size and work incredibly

I have this one and it occasionally has trouble grabbing the thinner gauge wires. I've actually never found manually stripping them to be difficult: fit it in the correct hole, twist around a few times and pull. (That's what she said.)

I'd like to find a good romex stripper though, especially when the romex is inside the box. Never felt comfortable just running a blade down the middle.

https://www.amazon.com/Gardner-Bender-CR-100-4-Inch-Ripper/dp/B000BQUCIS/ref=asc_df_B000BQUCIS/?tag=... [amazon.com] is what I use, or a razor blade.
