I mentioned kids in title, I always posted starting lowest point price from multiple products past 10 years in the forums. I did include the highest price-point in title and not trying to do clickbait, I'm not like that
I used to be an optician. Luxottica, the devil of the eye world, has owned ray ban, oakley, and basically half of all frames and sunglasses and even eye insurances. Recently bought Costa. Ray ban lenses are garbage in my opinion. Costa 580p ones are nice. My favorite lenses of all time are from a cheap pair of polaroid glasses, the creator of polarized lenses. Glass are nice but I am not sure how people wear them all day. I recently broke a temple on my coatas. Had to pay to ship them in but they shipped me a brand new pair with real 580p lenses. I scratch the original black ones and wanted brown so I put a cheap pair of brown lenses in them. So customer service seemed good.

Do you mean shopping on the site, or checking the actual glasses once they're in hands? In terms of shopping, on the Costas, the "color" drop down for each design will say "glass" in the name. For the Ray Bans it will say "lens material: glass" in the description (though the only glass lens Ray Bans I see are the Asian fit Clubmasters).
Last rant with this. I said this is what Luxottica owns and I should have said designers. They own, Ray-Ban, Essilor, Persol, Oakley, LensCrafters, OPSM, Sunglass Hut, Apex by Sunglasshut, Eyemed, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Glasses.com, Onesight, Target Optical as well eyemed, the second largest eye insurance.
I should have just posted the wiki.
In 2019, LensCrafters founder E. Dean Butler spoke to the Los Angeles Times, admitting that Luxottica's dominance of the eyewear industry had resulted in price markups of nearly 1,000%. In the interview, Butler noted "You can get amazingly good frames, with a Warby Parker level of quality, for $4 to $8. For $15, you can get designer-quality frames, like what you'd get from Prada." When told that some eyeglasses cost as much as $800 in the United States, Butler remarked, "I know. It's ridiculous. It's a complete rip-off."
The thumbs down here must be from Luxottica's CFO and the president of the US distributor.
Just recieved the Costa Half Moon glass blue mirrors. No signs of being a fake. Fit great. Not a smaller size like some rummy on here theorized. Awaiting my Tico glass lenses. This was a great deal.

I got the Rincon's, they are PERFECT, can't believe WOOT had them less than half the price of retail!
Just got a notification today that my order won't ship and was refunded. A shame, as I was looking forward to these. I have yet to have a good experience with Woot.

Me too. On the Tico's I mentioned above. Did your order have glass lenses in it. It seems the prices were almost too good for the glass lenses. Im wondering if it was a price mistake that they tried to fix on the backend.

Yes, ordered the glass lens OCEARCH half moons. A couple of comments above someone said they recieved their glass half moons though, so who knows. It's just a pain to decent find glass polarized lens options at a reasonable price.
Worth noting, when I called to find out what was going on they gave me a $10 discount code for a future woot purchase in the next 6 months.

Yea, that was me that got Halfmoons, but they bailed on my second order with the Ticos.

Like the look, but not sure about quality.
