Thats sweet sweet asian engineering. The same thing on a euro car will require you to be upside down with your feet out the sunroof to reach 6 torx fasteners and a triple square.

You should really replace the cabin filters if you haven't done it in a while. They catch all sorts of junk that you would otherwise be breathing while you're driving. I usually replace them every year.

Is this easy to install?
I don't really know anything about cars. Is the improvement in air quality significant?

Uh.. That is a different air filter. Your link video is for the engine intake air filter where as this filter is for the cabin air filter. Two different system.

They're pretty easy to install. Usually it's located right behind the glove compartment so it just involves removing or swinging it all the way down. No tools necessary.

It is easy to install. When you pull the old one out, you will see why you need to replace them. Toyota has a recommended replacement interval. On my Toyotas I think it's every 30K, but check your manual.

Make sure you read your manual before you touch them. Some cars have to be set in a certain mode for them to open the access door, and if you force it because you're unfamiliar you can end up with a several hundred dollar repair bill.

Especially during Spring when pollens and moisture are plenty, you may have a foul smell in the car. That usually comes from the old, dirty filter. I found that carbon filters work better but non-carbon filters are OK if you replace them regularly.

As others have said its easy for most cars and might involve more steps in other cars but in general its an easy replacement near/in/under the glove box in most cases. Its probably a 1 to 1.5 on the difficulty scale for most cars and Youtube is your best starting point btw.

Most of the times it requires flexing the glove box open and removal of a few screws and in most cases the control arm mechanism needs to be pushed/pried loose (probably the most complex part but shouldn't be difficult). I'd deff start with a Youtube video for your car specific model!

I change my either at the end of fall or at least every other year. Same for the engine air filter in most cars; or at least clean/wash it once a year.
