Just for clarity about the "faster controller", sometime in the past year or so Adata switched the controller on the Pro version from the SM2262EN to the older SM2262G which is basically the same controller as the regular SX8200. An Adata rep said "the drives with either or controllers can be seen in the market at the same time as well" which is why I'm clarifying which controller this claims to have. They've actually phased out the regular 8200 and kinda just merged them with the 8200 Pro. There isn't a huge difference between the two, but the SM2262EN has better performance while operating within its SLC cache, slightly faster speeds, but sacrifices a little consistency.

I got a 2015 SM2262ENG which is said to be the same as the SM2262EN controller from
the last deal at this price.

I hope it is the same and not the SM2262G.

They introduced the drive with the faster controller, leading many online reviewers to recommend the drive and put it on their lists of top performers. Then without any announcement or name change or any indication whatsoever, changed to the older, slower, no doubt cheaper controller for further mass shipments. Luckily savvy tech journalists caught on to this and have tried to alert consumers. No doubt there are lots of people who read the initial product reviews with the superior controller and buy the bait but receive the switch without knowing.
