1. Prevent cavities
2. Prevent gum disease
3. Freshen breath
This mouthwash is good for 2 and 3, but it has little effect on cavities as it is fluoride free. Just brushing well and brushing your tongue is plenty for most to have fresh breath, so it really isn't worth it unless you have gum disease (gingivitis).
Listerine is available in alcohol free variants, and that is preferential since alcohol dries the mouth, and a dry mouth is more prone to cavities. There is some weak evidence that alcohol mouthwashes may be associated with higher oral cancers risks, but again the evidence is weak. A more pragmatic consideration is that an anti-gingivitis mouthwash is pointless if your gingiva is already healthy from brushing and flossing well.
ACT (or a similar generic) is the most commonly recommended anti-cavity mouth wash.
Listerine alcohol-free is the best over the counter rinse to prevent gum disease.

Why is this even considered a good price when the 1L goes for $4?
