It's a french engineered design. Slickdeals has nothing to do.

My take, an experienced speaker person who has done live sound for events:

When given a decent signal, they sound as pleasing as any 2 way I've heard. They have realistic timbre, are fast enough with percussion, and get plenty deep for medium size rooms. Imaging is great, soundstage big enough.

Objectively they are built well, the woofers actually braced into the frame. They are the star here- the tweeters are merely non-offensive. Still better than similar wharfdale or low end klipsch designs, but that is my preference. You're correct they are the weak spot- only because the rest is so good.

Crossover construction is above average as well, they do the job fine and outclass similar price point competitors.

I own the Br03 and Br08, with solid state and tube amplification respectively.

The BR03 are the better buy- I love mine.

Peace!

I hear these sound awesome but i'm waiting on the Kef Q150. Only reason is the Kef's aren't as tall and I want to use them on my desk for my PC.

I've only heard of this company through Slickdeals.

Can anyone explain in great lengths why each speaker is worth $300 (MSRP) when I'm only seeing one tweeter and one midrange driver?

There's no way that tweeter costs $150 (MSRP).
They are NOT worth the MSRP or this sale price. They're mediocre but passable speakers. You can do much, much better for the money. Measurements are available on Audio Science Review, and people suggest alternatives in the forum there.

You can have excellent speakers with one tweeter and one woofer. Then you can have horrible speakers with several tweeters and woofers. The number of drivers doesn't tell you how good a speaker is. Quality engineering and looks tell you what a speaker is worth, and the only way to really know the engineering quality is to measure with the proper equipment and software.

Do you mind suggesting a few speakers that are comparable in price and better in quality?

How do they compare to comparable Klipsch Reference Premier line? I'm convinced RP is a sweet spot for quality/price..
Hello,

My brother has the entire RP line as 5.1 w atmos. Thise are loud speakers, definitely more in your face. However, there is a more melodic quality to the triangles. They "sing" better, where the klipsches are sharper and provide contrast. However, the klipsches have a more "boosted," if artificial quality- but that is only if I am sitting nitpicking. Both will please most.

Personally it's no contest- the triangles have better value for pure musical ability.

If you are looking for a better spec build, in my estimation you would be entering DIY builds by brands featured on parts express. Peerless by tymphany drivers and vifi come to mind. Certainly you can find speakers that are more linear, accurate in response. The triangles have a generous frequency dip near around the crossover point. But that also is part of its sound signature- I like it enough that I havent thought about upgrading speakers since purchasing.

I disagree that these are mediocre. I also disagree that response or noise measurements accurately tell the story of an experience to a human- but that's another story.

I might been learning about Triangles way too much with all these deals these couple months.
Was waiting for q150 or q350 go on sale. Would this be a better buy for a smallish living room - 14x20?
I think so. But only because I used to have a clean pair of kef calinda that sounded so sweet, it was hard to accept the new kef sound.

I think you will be pleased with either- the triangles are better at "disappearing" in my head.

I don't think about "how" they sound, just enjoying the music.

Hope that helps

What dimensions are considered a medium sized room? And do you think these would be good to pair with -516 for primarily listening to records in a 20x24 room?
Hello,

Glad to help from experience. the first room they were in was 16 x 20. They projected well, and most surprising was the fullness of the bass. Just be sure to use powerful amplification with a high damping factor, and I think you will be surprised. They will require good placement as any speaker would- but the front porting adds flexibility. Bass and kick drums sound sweet and distinctive. I think a record player would suit fine, though I haven't tested mine there yet.

Tbh the BR08 while "bigger" have more holes in their game. Those fiberglass woofers and extra crossover work have an up and a downside.

If you're willing to forego that low sub octave, I have zero reservations recommending the BR03s.

What happened to speaker prices lately? I was gonna recommend Crutchfield open box as that's where I got mine but they're $450 right now! Jeepers!

349 for a pair?
JBL Studio 530
JBL Stage A130
ELAC DBR62

Other choices if you're willing to go powered.
jbl 308p
many other choices

Then you get a sub and a way to integrate the sub with eq.

Well, that's cool. Sound just isn't that complex. There's no magic in audio.

How do you rate those JBL's vs the q150's which are $300 when they go on sale?

There speakers are $349 right now and you're posting $599 speakers to compare to it? What can we get for $350 the current price of these that's better?
