They've never been readily available at Target. Available for a few minutes at a time, once every couple months.

They don't sell them in store, so I'm calling BS on the guy that made his SD account a few minutes ago.

If $299 is the slickdeals price, what is the normal price?

If eligible, the Slickdeal is that there is no tax paid for this item, saving about $15-$30. For those who can't get the Series X, this is a suitable placeholder if you don't mind spending the $300. I love mine and keeps me from trying everyday to trying to catch the Series X or PS5 on sale (which usually sells out in the first 1-2 minutes when made available).

They sometimes make it to store shelves, I haven't seen it personally but I've seen several cases of them being found on shelves in Target and BB. And Target drops roughly every two-three weeks, not months apart.

I have both and would say definitely wait and get the (tax-free) Series X. Only reason I have the S is it's very compact and fits well in my suitcase for travel, an essential item when every country I visit requires a quarantine.

$299+tax would be normal.

Real gamers don't want this basic version. I can't wait until I get the series x
Wouldn't go that far, but it is definitely not made for the hardcore gamer audience. I mean, it's a great console for the casual gamers and people who just want a secondary system or a game pass machine.
