Shit, you really cropped
"Bluetooth" from the item title to bury pertinent info?

Item title on Amazon
"Govee LED Strip Lights RGBIC, 16.4FT Bluetooth Color Changing Rainbow LED Lights, APP Control with Segmented Control Smart Color Picking, Multicolor LED Music Lights for Bedroom, Room, Kitchen, Party"

Govee has some arrangement with SD

Yeah, that's pretty shady. There is a WiFi version but it's $32 right now.

Gone are the days when you can believe TU on SD. Do your homework. Nothing special here and definitely not worth 5 TU. Bluetooth = meh. No smarthome integration.

Prime members can get same strip size of regular density, waterproof, 5050s with 3M adhesive with smart home integration with RF remote for $14.99 which is a better deal IMO...but still prob not worth 5TU:

While both are 5050 one of the main differences is the one in the OP has 15 zones. No smart home integration (via Google or Alexa anyway) etc. So I think that is why there is a premium on this one.

Also word of caution this strip cannot be cut as per product page.

I don't dispute anything you stated but the ones you provided in the link are $25 and also only have 12 reviews. As opposed to the ones the OP posted which are $18 and have almost 6k reviews. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I have these lights. They are fantastic. Made a cool hex light with them for the kids. The app is well done too and fun to mess around with. These can be cut. I think the reason they say they can't is that the app allows for zonal coloring. Once you cut them the missing zones are still represented in the app but obviously can't be controlled. I can assure you that they can be cut at various markings along the strip and are still fully functional.

The one negative (imo) is that Govee is a Chinese company and as such you may have reservations about using their app.

You can hate on the Govee and SlickDeals business model all you want, but best bang for your buck on namebranded LED strips always points to Govee. I've watched so many independent reviews on the subject and they always come out on top for the price. Are there better strips? Absolutely! Will they cost anywhere near this price? Not even close.

So if you know what you want and need and Govee fits the bill, there isn't really a better option regardless of how much people kick and scream here about it everytime it's posted. Show a better deal or don't post. I'm all for educating consumers but that isn't what is occurring in this thread so far.

To add some value to my post here is a list of youtube content creators who do awesome LED strip projects:

i have this. Takes a lot of the brightness away that can be bothersome in a dimly lit room. IT's a lot easier on the eyes.

"Prime Members" as I stated in my post get this deal for $14.99...which really wasn't the main point. The main point is that smart home integration and a solid app like TuyaSmart with an RF remote are options to consider for less $$ (for Prime Members) and not much more for everyone else.
