Apart from that, you are not missing anything but actually getting something over XPS.
It has higher resolution QHD 16:10 display and it is slightly bigger as well. the 330 nits brightness is enough for indoor use, even in brightly lit rooms.
You are getting Thunderbolt 4 port + Legacy USB-A Ports and HDMI 2.0 ports whereas XPS only gives you Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port and you need a hub for plugging your legacy accessories.
The build quality, while not XPS level, is very good, with full metal construct and it is very light weight as well.
Now, the price is almost half of a similarly configured XPS which is really great for this device and what it offers.

No. 5000 series has the open slot. LPDDR4X is soldered ram, and almost always not upgradable

Thanks, 8gb soldered ram is a deal breaker for me. Otherwise nice specs.
Me too. This is for my wife but she uses photoshop a lot and I've been advised 16gb memory is preferred. A 100% sRGB screen and 300 nits would be fantastic at this price otherwise.

No go for me. Otherwise, it'd be a great deal, especially with that QHD display!
The issue with soldered RAM, apart from the inability to upgrade it yourself, is if you have a memory issue after 1YR warranty, you're screwed.
With the open slot you could go up to 40 gigs right?
