The white version has "new switches" for click, which makes it less likely to make the clicky noise which can be found on black viper ultimate. The white (mercury) uses newer switch which people stated is much better than gen 1 (black) viper ultimate.

I also do not think white ones are often in sale, i checked BB they do not have them in stock so i think if you like razer viper and wireless this is a good savings

It's on the bottom of the mouse, unfortunately.

Bought one. I've been wanting this mouse for awhile but I wanted the white color and that didn't even go on sale for Black Friday or during the other holiday sales.

I recently switched from viper ultimate to g pro wireless superlight..IMO they're both very and superlight. The reason I choose g pro is its shape and wheel. I use palm grip so g pro is simply much more comfortable for me to grip. Viper ultimate is low profile so it's good for finger grip. I need to use this mouse not only for gaming but also for 8hr work every day, but with Viper ultimate my hand got tired quickly. Also I feel g pro has better wheel and more comfortable for web browsing..

Razer said all versions come with the gen 2 switches now, but stock does matter for the other colors so if you get some older stock, you might get stuck with gen 1s.

I took the risk on a black one from BB.

This mouse is fantastic if you're a "claw" type gripper. I've owned many Razer mice over the years and this one has been the best by far for me. I bought the black version almost exactly a year ago from Amazon for $150 and it looks like that's still the same one being offered. The black version is 74g and this white version is 78g for some reason. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a few more grams since the black one is almost too light for my preference.

I'm a gamer but I don't do FPS so I can't comment on whether it lives up to their "esports" claims.

One complaint, that you'll find in many reviews of this mouse, is that the buttons feel a little "mushy" and have a very plastic-y click sound. Apparently, this is fairly common with optical switch mice now. Not a huge deal but takes some getting used to.

I actually like that it doesn't have a stupid amount of buttons on it. I generally only use extra buttons by accident so I tend to just find them annoying to have in the first place.

I use this exclusively with Ubuntu 20.04 Linux and have zero issues with it. You'll want to use the OpenRazer driver (not required, but allows for better management) and if you want to control the RGB features then I'd recommend Polychromatic.

$100 is a steal for this mouse.

Any way to check if I have the old model? I just got mine in the mail yesterday from Amazon and don't want to open it if it's the older switches.

Why are you thinking of switching?
