Single Airtag is $30 on Apple.... might as well get the 4 pack for $89 if you have access to Apple Military.

https://www.apple.com/us_epp_8051...tag/4-pack

Verify with ID.me and you should see $89

Free engraving

Airtags have a battery that you can replace btw (lasts a year).

Verge review - https://www.theverge.com/2021/4/2...acy-safety

Might want to wait for the thousands of Airtag keychain holders that will be on Amazon from 3rd party sellers for $4.99 although Belkins for $12 is pretty nice.

I am keeping two (my keys and throwing one in my electric bike)

The wife gets one and the son gets one in his school backpack.

Ill probably get another once they release a dog collar to hold one... my dog is a shit that runs away now and then.

I have rarely misplaced my keys since adding a Tile to them so they work and they use the same replaceable batteries. These just use Apple iPhones to find the tags and you have to buy an accessory to have them fit on your keys. These will likely be everywhere soon as the fans have waited years for these. (just gave the gf a tile less than a week ago and she may give it back for one of these)

I designed and 3D printed a Tile Pro holder for our cat's collar and it works absolutely fantastic for tracking/calling him into the house. These Airtags are smaller and more powerful. I can't wait to replace the Tile with one of these.

Amazon has the replacement batteries needed in a year (10 pack) on sale today for $8.50.
I see these going up in price soon because of the airtags...

That is a horrible price for a 10-pack of CR2032 batteries. I've also had very poor experiences buying coin-cell batteries on Amazon. Apparently lots of sellers have old batteries that have been sitting for years that they dump through Amazon. They look perfectly fine, have the right voltage output, but they die really quickly in your devices. I simply quit buying coin cell batteries on Amazon altogether.

If you have an IKEA near you, they are one of the best places to buy CR2032 batteries -- $3.49 for an 8-pack everyday price, and in my experience they have always been fresh batteries that last:

As to the price of CR2032 batteries going up, there will always be some sellers gouging suckers, but there are already millions and millions of devices on the planet that use CR2032 batteries. I don't think a few million Airtags will impact the overall price. You'll have a better experience if you wait until your Airtag batteries are low to buy as fresh of batteries as you can. They will last longer.

What Apple and other manufacturers really needs to release is an Airpods case that holds the Airtag. I am sure the 3rd Gen Airpods will have a case option that has the Airtags built in.

So far I've never misplaced an Airpod when it's not in the charging case. When they are in the case, you can't use Find My to locate them in your house. It's a huge pain. This is exactly what I need to be able to figure out where my case disappeared to.

Apple is also missing the boat on a thin wallet line. Apple should design and sell wallets (fanboys will drop a fortune on something like that) that are as thin as Big Skinny wallets with a CR2032 battery for a built-in Airtag. Some classic bifold / trifold leather wallets, some aluminum case wallets, etc. They also need to make a thin AirTag that can fit in your wallet.

The three most commonly lost things:

1) Keys
2) Wallet
3) Phone

Tile does have Apple beat in that you can use a Tile to locate your phone for when you lose your phone in the couch cusions.

Only a handful of 3rd parties get access to design accessories for unreleased Apple products.

Now that the dimensions are widely known, expect 100 wallets on Amazon in a few weeks.

I bought a 4-pack. Two for the kid's backpacks, one for me and one for the wife.

May be wearable for kids without shouting tracker.

You're kidding right? You have to get more creative if you think these are limited to space head people.
I'm putting one in my camera bag. If it gets stolen I have a window of time I can track it and increase my chances of getting my stuff back or at least holding the people who took it accountable.
As silly as it might seem, this useful for automobiles, bikes, hiking bags, and more.

Apple will sell a boatload of these. I'm not an iphone user at all, but here's the genius:

- ability for Android and iOs phones to scan them for information to find users' contact
- using other people's iphones to find your stuff
- foresight to prevent people from using these to track people without their permission

Personally, I don't lose things that often, but I can see parents buying them for kids and older people using them to keep track of things. The replaceable battery is a surprise, considering Apple's profit model of proprietary cords and attempts to prevent customers from upgrading their own devices (RAM, storage, etc...)
