How can I increase my credit score 50 to 100 points within the next 2 months?

I'm looking to increase my credit score at the minimum of 50 points ASAP. Anyone have advice on how to do so. My credit score is just under 600 currently. Not sure if paying off credit cards more or opening another credit line with fingerhut or something similar would help or hurt. Thanks

This is impossible to answer without knowing a lot of information. Why is it so low to begin with, is your credit utilization really high?

50 to 100 points takes at least a year of being on time and paying off everything.

Came here to post this. Also, request a credit limit increase on your EXISTING credit accounts. DO NOT open new credit accounts as they will likely DECREASE your score temporarily.

Requesting a credit limit increase may result in a hard pull on your report - thereby lowering your score. Amex does not do this but others may. Tread carefully.

Was not aware of this since I've never experienced it myself. I only have Master Card and Visa cards and never had a hard hit when requesting credit limits.

That being said, a higher limit will lower your credit usage % permanently, and even if it does trigger a hard full it will be temporary. Will they cancel each other out? Who knows.

My credit score varies a bit it will drop 10-20 points then work its way back up over a few months. which to me is weird, I just paid 4K for something my taxes and my score dropped about 12 points for having the balance on my card. But it was less than 30 days, in other words I did not even get a bill from my credit card and having the balance dropped my score.

You may say your utilization went up, but i have about 190K in available credit, I am about to buy a new furnace for 12K and figure i will, need to pay the card the day after the charge is made to avoid having it drop my credit more!

My score is over 800 so it is moot to a certain extent

Do you have multiple capitol one cards? Chase will not give me any more cards as I have more than 6 right now!
