If I didn't grab a couple pieces in the last factory seconds sale, I'd be all over this. Really love the two A-C items we picked up. Could really use those 2 and 3 qt saucepans, but I'll wait to get them separately.

Stainless steel is much better than poisonous non stick, plus it lasts a lifetime.

Bought the 7 pc. version of this recently. Fantastic quality and craftsmanship. I would buy this for sure. Hot pan, cold oil, no stick.

This deal appears that it would be valid for the 10-Pc All-Clad D5 set as well? Bringing the price to $629.99 before any Slickdeals Rewards.

If you watch America's Test Kitchen on youtube they reviewed a bunch of pans and the D3's were their favorite, even beating out the All Clad D5's that have copper in them (5 layer vs 3), these are great pans
I can agree with this. I got the 7 piece d3 a month ago, and already had 2 d5 skillets. I like the d3's more. They heat up quicker, are a bit lighter, and most importantly clean up nicer. For some reason I am using bar keepers friend to scrub off burnt stuff on the d5s more often, where just soaking the d3s works 90% of the time. Supposedly the d5 heats more evenly but I dont notice that at all.

Does the D3 have a curved lip/edge to assist with pouring liquids without spilling? Or is that only on the D5 set? And if the latter, has this been an annoyance for you? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

D3 skillets have curved lip, the sauce pans dont. It doesnt bother me but maybe for some it would

Newb here. Are these long lasting and is this a good deal?
All Clad is "buy it for life". All of ours look like the day we got them (well a little scratched up now) and they get used all the time.

The recommendations for D3 vs D5 is typically because the added layers don't justify the cost. Heating up quicker also means the pan will lose heat faster, and are more susceptible to burning if your temps aren't right. The outer layers that your cleaning are identical.

Different pans and pots should technically be different weights, thicknesses, and materials based on intended use. Way overkill for most cooks, but to this end, the Thomas Keller AC line (possible no longer in production) is a combination of various layers, some with copper, etc. depending on use.

Personally I love my D5 stuff more because I favor the brushed finish which you can't get in D3.

This is a great "buy once" price for cookware that your kids will get when you die. If you're even remotely interested in cooking, or spend a significant amount of time in the kitchen, this is well worth the one time investment.
