From what I've read, it's a decent game if you're a Warhammer 40k fan. And typically W40k is NOT kid-friendly. It's set in a dark, violent future.
I've played through this game to completion. This game nails the 40k atmosphere. The gameplay is a fun tactical combat sim. The combat reminds me of divinity OS combat. For 20 bucks I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

I have it on PC and I say its fine by todays standard of say 12+ it does have some still images of graphic violence. Its a fun little game and if I didn't have it for PC I would consider the switch. If you like 40k then go for it.

This more of a beat em up or a trpg? I remember one of them was twin stock shooter/waves of beat em up and I liked that one.

I really wanted to like this game, I'm a fan to the point I even have a Mechanicus tattoo, but I just couldn't enjoy it. I don't really remember why since it's been awhile, but I do recall the controls being not the best and the overall UI turning me off.
I refunded through Steam.

Get this instead:
Mario + Rabbids® Kingdom Battle.
Whichh is on sale for $15.


Honestly I would let my little kid play Warhammer games. Kids love war, and ctb are good for the brain. That said Mario + Rabbits is a very well-rated XCOM clone targeted at kids.
