I saw this advertised, but it doesn't have wifi 6. Is this an old model? Also has no privacy shutter for webcam.

Wondering if this Lenovo with the same processor would be better?

Given the 5700U was just released, it's not an old model.

Also, people still are falling for the webcam "privacy" stuff these days? I thought that fake hysteria was in the past.

Why wouldn't it have wifi 6? Do you think the Asus is better?

Would this work with $100 off of $500 promotional code for Costco online?

Wondering that myself. I don't think it excludes sale items?

huh? it's been proven since the 90's that the NSA and CIA spy on you. All the big companies like Google and Microsoft have connections to the intelligence agencies as well.

If you really think that big companies are randomly hijacking your computer and recording webcam video feeds, you're sorely mistaken.

Keep your antivirus up to date and don't visit risky websites, and you won't have malware issues.

Or, I'm guessing if you're that paranoid, you tape over your cell phone cameras too, right?

Anyone have an opinion between this and the Lenovo for $50 less? Is the wireless card easily replaced on this Asus? No idea why it wouldn't have WiFi 6, unless it's a mistake on the specs.

Battery size (42 wH) is ridiculous. Screen being 250 nits also makes it more of an indoor laptop. Those 2 things make this laptop seem like it's catered to those who don't leave home often. Other than that, it's pretty well specced

Edit: oh, and it raises the laptop off the table but the air intake is through the keyboard and not the bottom. Wonder what the designers were thinking...

Just FYI, this and a few in the 5000 series are based on Zen 2, not Zen 3 like the 5800u.

I am definitely confused why it isn't WiFi 6. Is anyone going to order one and try it out?

I have the AMD 4700 version of this. It's run exceptionally well, build quality is slightly above average. I had no trouble swapping out the wifi card for one with Wifi 6--took a couple seconds and an easy $15 upgrade.
