15% off + 10% off totals 23.5% off, not 25% off.

I got the embody thru SDer here who help setup initial contact with a recognized seller. Got my Embody for less than $1k.

Yeah but when you start adding options you are still over $1k (posture fit back, hard floor wheels, tilt and adjustable arms).

You can get a deal similar to this anytime by going to a HM dealer. They always give you better pricing.

Source: Have 2, sitting in an Aerin right now.

My wife is about the same and the B is a perfect fit for her. She uses a C though at work and says it's completely fine for her, even though I think the C is too large (she can't fully sit back all the way). The A is a tight fit.

i bought an Aeron beginning of last year right before the pandemic started. best investment i've made since I sit on this thing 12-14 hours a day now. great chair but YMMV. highly suggest going to try it out at a store.

Most HM dealers will offer the 15% off all the time if you ask so i don't think it's anything special. the additional 10% off is nice.

Beware of the return policy: 14 days store credit only

returns
Merchandise purchased from hivemodern.com may be returned for store credit or exchange only within 14 days of delivery if accompanied by original receipt and in original condition and in original packaging. Returns must be pre-authorized by calling 503 242 1967. returns received and not pre-authorized will be subject to 20% restocking fee. Non-stock items, special orders, lighting and polycarbonate items are not returnable. Refunds are not issued except in the case of defective merchandise we are unable to replace. Returns should be properly packed and sent at the customer's expense, to: hive 820 nw glisan street portland, or 97209. Actual cost of shipping item to you will not be credited or refunded. Store credit is valid for one year from date of issue. Thereafter, unused credit is forfeited. Claims for defective or damaged items must be filed within 24 hours of delivery. Please inspect your items immediately upon delivery. Claims received after 24 hours of delivery usually cannot be processed.
One of the advantages of ordering from places like this is you can usually get it cheaper. I found authorized retailers had high restocking fees so it's risky if you don't know what size or model you want. If that's the case, I suggest going somewhere to sit in all them, then you can know what you want before you commit.

Conversely, paying full price (or black friday sale prices) on hermanmiller.com allows you to return on a whim if you don't like it. Pros and Cons to each approach.

I am a similar build, use a Steelcase Leap v1 I bought used that is very comfortable and doesn't get warm even though it's cloth (as opposed to mesh on the Aeron). I used to sit in an Aeron and while it was great, sometimes the plastic border around the bottom seat would dig into my thighs. Something to consider.
I've experienced similar to the A frame, less in the B, and not at all in the C.

Geez how is the embody still $1270 with the only add on being arms.
The Embody is the 'new Aeron' chairs. Its the new hot commodity so they know they don't need to discount the thing

It used to be more common with office moves and such before last year, but you might be able to find a good deal on a used one on Craigslist for half the price. Might not have all the features, but a decent starter to dip your toes into the HM Life. ;-)

Question for you with experience buying expensive chairs like this.

Why not buy from Madison Seating? The chair is $550 with arm rests and everything new.
Madison seating isnt' an Authorized Reseller. Meaning that you do not get the liftetime warranty from Herman Miller. Herman miller's lifetime warranty is only for the original purchaser, and is non-transferrable. Madison steating sells openbox/refurb meaning the original warranty is void

Now yes the chairs are generally basically tanks and you'd have to run them over with a Mac truck to do any actual damage to these things but that is a thing to consider. I've had my Aeron chair for 10 years, through like 4 moves, and its in the top 5 things I would run back into my home if it was on fire to save.

If cost is the only concern then yes something like Madison seating would have better pricing

But for an authoirzed reseller, with a full warranty, its a decent deal

I also don't see any new options at madison seating. I could be wrong, but they all seem to be open box deals. A simple search of complaints seems that people got ripped mesh on their chair from an order from madison seating. Not something i would personally want after paying hundreds of dollars for a chair regardless if it's new or used.
Madison's response? Submit a warranty claim. Again, not the best.

Yeah I haven't heard great things about Madison Seating. As far as online chair retailers go, I've had great experiences with Crandall Office Furniture with ordering parts and would tend to believe I'd have the same experience when ordering a chair.
