Recently got a pair of brand new tilt black Aerons with arms from MadisonSeating for 500 ea... took a month to arrive though. for 400 savings I can buy another chair instead of warranty. Chairs are well made though, and have always found them very comfortable.

Ehhh, I really want to bite, but I grabbed a pretty well refurbed classic Aeron with front/ forward tilt/lock and adjustable lumbar for $500 during the summer. It's black and I REALLY want a grey one, but I can't justify double the price with the upgrades, even though I'm certain I can sell my current one for the price I bought it for. TL'DR I'm a cheap bitch.
I'll take it if you want

I don't understand the Aeron love on slickdeals. My last job had these as the office chairs and I was not a fan. The first Aeron I had broke pretty quickly (granted, I am 6'3" and 210 lbs, and was plopping down on it). But, to HM's credit, the replacement Aeron then lasted for the remaining 6 years of constant sitting, and was still going when I left the company (I did stop plopping down on it though). So I guess I would say that they are durable as long as you don't abuse them. More importantly, however, I was never comfortable in that chair. I would constantly find myself contorting in odd postures in order to alternate the sides of my ass I was sitting on.

As comparison, I just got an Ayalon from Staples for working at home, and so far it has been infinitely more comfortable. If it doesn't degrade too much for the next three years, I would much rather need to replace it every few years than have an Aeron that lasts forever but is never that comfortable.
You know nothing, jack sparrow.

Staples chairs don't hold a drop to HM. Maybe your body is unique in the way you prefer Ayalon but every chair I tried at Staples seems inferior to me.

I've had an equa, 2 aerons, a reaction and a leap V2. The equa was the most comfortable of all of them.

700 bucks for a chair. That's the most wack thing I've seen
That's what I said before I bought it 20 years ago. My boys start using computer chair for the last 15 years and they gone thru 3 different ones already. Granted that all three combine are cheaper than Aeron but the comfort level is not in the same league.

I've been wanting one of the polished caster / arm rests with black or grey trim. Just can't come off the coin for a new one. Absolutely love the chairs though, I ready have 2

I've been on this chair for over 4 years now. It's the only chair I have tried that has not aggregated my lower spine and bulged/herniated disc.

I was fortunate enough for my office to send me home with one.

Hope this helps.
