Home Depot currently has the m18 string trimmer, 8.0ah battery, charger, & 8" Edger Attachment packaged together for $303. Price normally runs around $300 without any attachments.
Warm deal, price-wise. Good deal if you need exactly these accessories, but the string trimmer turned sideways can also do some light edging if it's not serious enough for a typical at-home user to need really perfect edges.
This deal of the string trimmer, battery, charger and a separate additional quik-lok attachment for $299 was available through multiple retailers a few weeks ago.
The edger is the cheapest of the quik-lok attachments (~$100).
The pole saw or hedge trimmer are usually $150+.
AND getting the hedge trimmer attachment also surprisingly included the shoulder strap too ($30 retail, I think? $20-ish on sale), maybe because it's so heavy and needs to be held up in the air... That probably wouldn't be the case with the edger.
Just give me the fuel trimmer and 8.0 batt for 250 or less pls :x:
I'm assuming this isnt hackable since it's not 2 items during checkout?
You missed the deal a few weeks ago when it was the quik-lok trimmer kit (includes one 8.0Ah battery and charger) and one more 8.0Ah battery thrown in, for $299.
Your best bet now is to buy the OP deal, and sell the edger for $50, which is low compared to MSRP and ebay prices, but the question is finding people using Milwaukee outdoors tools that also want/need it. (If you're in California, I would be one of them, but how many people are like me?)

I'm in MA and would also take the edger for $50. Only part I don't have
I ordered this deal on April 15th and got the edger attachment but the rest was lost in shipping. So they refunded the whole order and supposedly put a note on that when this is back in stock they will give me the deal price.

I just posted another trimmer deal if you are still looking for one. It's $159 for the trimmer and 250' of line
Thanks! I am going to hold out for something with an 8.0 battery as the largest I have currently is a 5.0.
Look up Christopher tong and James moonyo on Facebook. They've had the best battery prices that I've found and they both take PayPal. If you also have the m18 blower, you'll definitely want at least an 8.0
I went ahead and got this. I also opted for the shoulder strap which I'm glad I did. This isn't very light.
The edger is a BEAST. It did a better and cleaner job than my old corded black and decker. I'm very happy with the edger.
The trimmer feels like I'm using a commercial trimmer compared to my $50 toro menards battery trimmer. The toro is almost child size. Starts to hurt my back from leaning over after a few minutes. Also on my second one because the charging ports are poorly made.
This milwaukee trimmer feels extremely heavy duty in comparison. The variable speed is nice so I can save battery with the light, tall grass and crank it up for the thicker stuff.
I wish the shield was a little wider but that's not a knock against the performance.
My question for you guys is, is the charger\battery supposed to give off a funky odor the first couple times you charge it? The charger also gets very warm but the battery doesn't, while charging. It charged quickly though. The charger gives off a light whining noise which I'm not sure is the charging circuits or if there is a tiny fan in there. This is my first milwaukee product.

Yes, smell is normal with the plastics getting warm and offgassing. The heat is normal as well since it's a "rapid" charger. Also, yea the few rapid chargers ive been around all had the whining noise and i do believe its an internal fan.

Add both items (2825-21ST and 49-16-2718) individually to cart and see if discount applies.
If so, then one or the other can be returned for the prorated value.
