Short answer: I don't know.

Long answer: I have 2013 MacBook air and managed to use the original battery till Mar 2021. What I liked about MBA is I don't have to carry my charger with me. I just charge it at night and use it during the day (less than 8 hours/day). The last couple of years I had to carry the charger and MBA suddenly switched off when battery had 50% left. With the new battery, I'm back to leaving my charger home.
There's another coupon under the item for an additional $8 off. Great deal!
Got this a few months ago. Good product. The replacement was easy and holds charge well.

Ordered one for my wife's mid 2012 MBA that will basically only stay on if plugged in lol thanks!

I still use my Mid-2011 MBA.

Back around the time when I became a legend that people write stories about here on Slickdeals.

In 10 years, I've only replaced the battery once, so the 2nd battery is dire need of replacement...

Dope that this deal popped up.

That is exactly what I've experienced with my 2013 MBA. Good to know this battery replacement will fix the switching off issue.
count me amongst the users of Mid 2011 MBA still on its OG battery

Who replaces the battery?
everyone, incl Apple

I use a simple app that I designed that just writes the start time into a text document. Every minute, it writes a new entry with the time - so I just take the starting time and then look for the ending time, and go from there. I usually will boot from an external drive that I've prepared as well in order to reduce other variables. You could probably find an app that does the same thing.

I'll throw a Youtube video up on the screen (one of those 10 hour loop videos with no ads), put the screen at full brightness, and let it run down from a full charge. Anything below 4 hours runtime goes back to the manufacturer.

It might be a bit of work for a one-off battery install, but it weeds out the duds pretty well.
thanks for sharing this

I'm not repairing or upgrading macs anymore. The last time I cleaned my mbp on the inside, I apparently removed the only thing holding it together (read dust). I never got to reapplying the thermal gel I initially opened it up for. No amount of personal diagnostics helped and Apple marked it as a legacy device and wouldn't even diagnose what the issue was. 😔
My point: it was bad for a 2009 device. Can't imagine how much more tricky newer devices are.

I recently replaced the battery in my 2014 mba with one of these, original battery was only lasting maybe 4 hours. It took 15 minutes and the new battery is just as good as when it was new, easily lasts for a 3-4 days using it for a few hours each day.

My Macbook air battery was completely dead. I don't want to spend $129~ for a new battery on an old Macbook. I bought a preowned OEM battery with 260 charge cycles for $20 on eBay. You can check on the wording and logos on the battery to make sure they are authentic. It works fine, and the battery life is okay with the Big Sur OS.

Got 1 for my (Mid-2013) Macbook Air 6,2 A1466, Coupon + Code + Tax = $19.95
My original battery 6757mAh is still going strong; only 118 cycles count.
Bought this as a replacement in case they stop making it. How well does it store? Do I need to hook it up and charge it before storing it?

Any info on post-install battery training required?
these types of batteries do not store well unless you know the state of charge and temperature.

Just replaced my son's MacBook air mid 2013 with one of these. First one was bad, sent it back. Next one worked great. Computer is just like new--but I missed out on a slickdeal! Very simple and easy installation, by the way.

I had posted about a free year of Shopify or something before that was even a thing. Post blew up and was a Top 5 post on SD at the time. I wish I bought the stock instead! laugh out loud

Haha - those were the good days! Loopholes were rampant cause everything had a human touch (error)!

1. The Starbucks rewards fiasco. Use Starbucks GC to buy more Starbucks GC. This was awesome. Got a free Verismo and over $1000 worth of Starbucks outta it at the time.

2. The epic Sears holiday points debacle. Use Sears points to buy more Sears points. And it was lopsided where you get way more. I'm pretty sure we bankrupted Sears cause of it!.BluLightSpecial (can't believe I still remember his username) had scripted it and actually walked away with multiple TVs, and even a riding lawnmower at the time.

Crap, I totally missed the additional $8 coupon somehow. I think I glossed over it and rushed to checkout, assuming it had been applied. smh....

Anyway, I did the battery rundown test and got over 5 hours out of the battery - I ran one of those long Youtube vids (relaxing music or something haha) on full screen and full brightness with the screensaver/sleep turned off. Wrote a quick bash script to print `date` every minute and ran it while that was going. Not bad! I'm pretty happy so far.

No doubt man. It was fun.
The HP Touchpad liquidation and Blackberry Playbook run was another good one.
So many good times here on SlickDeals back in the day when mistake/price errors were a regular thing.

Never was asked to become a Mod on here though. Probably cause I pissed too many ppl off in my glory days...LMAO

Anyone have issues with this battery? I installed one on my sister's MacBook Air. She mentioned a few days ago that it seems to be running hotter than it was before. I went to check for any similar things in reviews, but it looks like it's been removed from Amazon. Should we all be concered?

Don't think I can attach a photo on mobile, but the first Amazon chat rep was clueless, so I asked to speak with a manager or someone who could actually look into this. Apparently, they called the manufacturer directly (RayHom), and was told that there's a fire hazard risk out on this product, and Amazon pulled the product page, and didn't think to tell anyone who purchased it. I told them this was completely unacceptable and I really do hope they pass the concerns to the proper team so people can be contacted if there really is a fire hazard on this product. They offered a return and I told them the battery is in my little sister's computer, in a completely different state. They issued me a full refund without having to return the battery. I really am concerned now, and no one in my family can probably figure out how to swap the battery, so I guess I'll have to have then bring it somewhere for a battery replacement...
