I thought the same thing.
I don't have any other 2.5 layer jackets to compare it with, but it with the pit zips down it does a decent job of breathing.
It does feel a bit more clammy than my 2 layer jacket, but from what I read that is to be expected with 2.5 layer jackets.
Thinking about getting one for the wife.

What temp would you say the cloud cap 2 was comfortable in? Is it for higher Temps like 80s or colder ie 60s?
Below 80s. It does Get sticky if you start sweating to much, although the pit vents are very helpful.
