60w is ok? Depends on your wants and needs.

The brand new unknown generic brand/seller makes it an unknown.
TBD on quality/safety/value.

it's 120v electrical device.
subpar USB outlet quality can damage devices.
plenty of things can go wrong from a relatively simple/cheap device.

Am I the only one who can't stand having USB ports built into things like this? Seems useless when they usually don't comply to charging standards and even if they do, when the standards change, they're obsolete pretty quickly.

what standard? they have cables that are usb 3.0 to usb C . . . you are looking at 10-15 years from now before the next USB standard will make USB 3.0 obsolete. for charging any phone over night 5V/2.1A is all you need.

what should worry you most, is how ugly the lamps are.
