I was hoping to get this for my 85-year-old mother. Is it easy to use?
My grandma has a bit of a problem with her's because she keeps trying to talk to it like a person, with several sentences, and please and thank you, etc.
If your mom can understand that she just needs to say "Alexa, <do thing>" it should be fine.

I ordered it for my mom but she already has an older echo so she gets how to use it.
I family member bought us one of these even though the rest of our devices are all Google. I was apprehensive about having a one off item. I've changed my mind though.
It seems to be more accurate than google with the weather. I asked them both if it was going to snow. Alexa gave me the schedule of the off an on times. Google said she didn't think so. Hint: It was currently snowing...
The screen is nice, I like the recipes and news that pop up. Audio quality is good enough for me. A small but helpful feature is you can tell it set times for you, but also multiple timers and show them al to you. So like 4 hours for the turkey, 20 minutes for the potatoes, 30 for the bread, and you can easily track them all
The suggestions on it get a bit annoying but you can kind of turn most of them off
Plan for my mom's is to set it up to my sister and I can share photos of our kids to it. and they'll show up on the device, photo frame style.
