Was looking for some renewal codes to bring down the $40 annual Mychoice fee before I realized that UPS MyChoice is now regularly priced at $19.99 annually as of the end of 2020.

If you get a lot of UPS packages sent with their cheap-USPS partnered service, SurePost, the free unlimited (and automatic if you set it in your account) upgrades to UPS ground make this service worth it.

You can turn on the auto-upgrade feature of mychoice premium by drilling down through these menus:
Preferences -> Edit Membership Preferences -> Delivery Options -> UPS SurePost® Package Upgrades

Upgrade to mychoice premium in the app or the website for $19.99 now, no promo codes required. Making this thread for others like me that didn't realize the price had gone down and they don't have to dig for promo codes anymore to keep the service at a reasonable price.

NOTE: This new lower pricing plan doesn't let you opt out of auto renewal in advance, so if you don't want it at the end of your term, you have to remember to cancel it or it will renew you automatically yearly forever.

I for one will not pay for this service, it is a ripoff that UPS charges for the ability to you pick up your package at their location (which actually costs them less money than coming to your house.)

Thanks for this! I renewed my membership through 11/2022. And thanks to the extra bit in your post about unlimited upgrades to UPS ground (from SurePost) , I decided to navigate through the account settings, where I found you could set the preferences to automatically upgrade all packages to do that (when available). I've had the premium for a few years, now, and never even thought to look for a setting like that, so much appreciated!

BTW, the setting for this is in Preferences > UPS SurePost Package Upgrades

Glad it helped you. It's basically the only reason I am willing to pay for the Premium MyChoice. Surepost SUCKS, and the ability to have unlimited surepost packages automatically upgraded to UPS ground for free easily makes this pay for itself at the $19.99/yr price.

The key feature of the premium mychoice is the ability to have all SurePost packages automatically upgraded to UPS Ground.

You should be able to have them hold your package at the depot by calling them ahead of the package's arrival. Even before mychoice premium they never charged me for that here.

Don't know why I didn't think to look for it in the past. I've manually upgraded a few packages over the years. Glad I don't have to worry about doing that anymore.

So will this UPS deal be like with your "Unlimited" phone plan that gets throttled if you actually use it? I am of the mindset to not trust anything, any of these corporate Mo Fo's say.....

This has been their regular price since November 2020 when they lowered their price from $40 to $20 a year.

I upgraded to this UPS Premium January 9th of this year. I've had over 200 packages delivered since then and all upgraded from USPS Surepost with no problem. I own a business.

I've used MyChoice for a few years but of the SurePost packages I receive, only about 50% actually upgrade to Ground. Yes, my automatic upgrade settings were on, but after talking to UPS quite some time ago, not all vendors are guaranteed to have their packages upgraded. One in particular is Old Navy. It's "iffy". With the amount of packages I receive from all courier companies (USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc), UPS only makes up about 30% so it's not worth me paying $20.

FedEx Ground allows you to pick up your package at a local Walgreens for no extra charge. In fact, Walgreens will also give you a discount coupon as a reward. No having to sit at home if it is a signature-required delivery with FedEx.

I just renewed as well. One thing that appears to be different is you cannot opt out of auto renewal. You can only cancel before it renews at the "then current price". Not a deal breaker, just a change in the way UPS handles renewals.

Yeah since this is regular price, I'm not sure about this as a "deal". You'd think that with all the coupon codes from the past when the price was $40 regular, that there's probably going to be a chance to get this at a discount sometime in the future. Wouldn't be surprised to see a $9.99 offer in the coming months.
