Like the other commenter said, you need to control it a lot with your phone if using it with Bluetooth which I'm not a fan of, I actually use it more for regular FM radio though.
I was rather upset with the sound quality of this thing. My 8+ year old sub $100 Bluetooth speaker sounds better than this radio/speaker which was released in 2020. There is an EQ menu you can access to make some adjustments but it still falls short.
I did keep it to just bring music around with me while working in the yard but it's not the higher quality speaker I was looking for to replace my old Bluetooth speaker.

I guess if you used a smartwatch, you could control the music via the watch instead of the phone. Thanks & Repped!

- Decent volume
- Pretty strong antenna reception
- Will charge M12 batteries and has battery charging condition LED and LED for battery life
- Will charge USB peripherals (2.1A output; would have been nice for this to be a QC/PD port)
Cons
- Distortion at higher volumes when bass is increased
- Uses proprietary 18V DC power brick with barrel jack and no place to store it when not in use
- Must use phone to control songs (no SD slot)
- Uses older BT technology (4.2) so less bandwidth and less distance from phone for connection vs. BT 5.0
- very low powered charger output for battery (1.0A) so slow M12 battery charging
- Only IPX54 rated (dust resistance and some water splash)
To me there are ton's of BT speakers on the market that do it as well for cheaper. Yes this has a terrestial radio receiver built in for those that need that but Milwaukee missed the boat regarding better music control (play/pause) as well as other accessories that could have been built in to increase utility (flashlight, NOAA weather bands, 12V power in (for plugging into car to get power), 3.5mm input, headphone jack, BT receiver but no transmitter if you wanted to use BT headphones, ability to link to other radios for stereo sound).
I can find zero information on the size of speaker and tweeter used (frequency or watts info). I've read that smaller compact M12 batteries are problematic to remove (shocker there) and I have no idea how rugged this thing is if you drop it. Most job site radio/speakers have some sort of a roll bar around it while this does not at all.
