United Airlines and Expedia have round trip airfares travelling from Las Vegas (LAS) to San Jose Costa Rica (SJO) for $227, making 1 stop. These are basic economy fares, a restricted-type fare. On United's basic economy, you are only allowed one small personal item on board. There is no seat selection, changes or cancellations.

So what happens is when you land, you need to go thru Immigration to get into the Airport,
then go around a big loop to get back to International Departures, to get on a different plane.
Now if you have Hours between flights, then I guess is not a problem. But you don't want to waste too much time, and most flights are booked with maybe 45 minutes to spare so any hiccups along the way and you will miss your flight.
I've been to San Jose Costa Rica for work,... tip, DON'T get a rental, lol, just uber it. Traffic is INSANE! I don't know how our local uber drivers did not get into a wreck for the week I was there.

Check my google maps profile. I reviewed all the places I stayed with pics. Highly recommend the place I stayed in La Fortuna. In the middle of the rainforest and fell asleep to the sound of the rainforest. It's very much alive and active.
And yes, you're not suppose to flush TP but I did. It just grosses me out putting it in the bin. That's common is most undeveloped countries including all over Asia, central and South America.

I honestly don't remember mosquitos being a big problem there. Might have been the season we went there. We had the regular "off" spray and that's pretty much it.
