For those with a Costco, they were $199 in store with 2 years of AppleCare+ included. This was 3 days ago and the sign didn't have any sort of markdown or store specific price, so it may be the standard price in store.

Just did this yesterday. I ended up trading in my first gen pro model and they gave me $45. They were sounding like crap and not holding much of a charge anymore.

I did the same thing yesterday. Did they take a pic of your id with the handheld scanner? Is that normal practice now when you go to do trade ins? In some jurisdictions BBY requires fingerprints too for trade-ins.

Sold mine on Craigslist for near double that, but they were in good condition (no charge issues etc.), and got the new ones at Costco with 2 yr apple care+ (covering accidental damage?)
