also can be found cheaper elsewhere online (oem keys)

Microsoft has changed how MS Offfice works. Instead of buy the program one-time it's now subscription based. So no more Office 2010, Office 2013 or Office 2016. It's just Microsoft 365 which will have regular updates from them. I hope it helps.

office 2019 is a thing --you can still buy the program instead of the service model. Its updated at the same frequency that 365 is --there's an apple universal binary (M1).
