12 amps not 15amps. Amazon's listing is incorrect. Not a bad deal though.

Edit:
Apparently I'm sort of incorrect. Old ones were 12amps but Kasa has a new version of the HS103 that is 15amps. So hopefully that's what you receive.

Going even further down that rabbit hole I'm seeing suggestions that the HS103 may have even been as low as 10amps at one time.

That being said I just received my EP10s from Amazon and they are 15amps and smaller than both my HS103s and HS105s. So I'll be sticking with those from now on.

Either way you slice it I really like my Kasa plugs and still think this is a good deal.

These do appear to be 15amp if you needed that. 4 pack is 26.99 I had a 10% coupon below it.

Seems to be a newer model. Amazon says product date April 2021. I bought them so I'll see. I have a couple of the HS105 and HS103 already. the one thing I did notice was the EP10 specifically says 2.4ghz only. I have a stand alone 2.4ghz IOT network so that's not an issue for me but might be worth nothing.

Are you using a tri band router to keep 2.4 and 5 for smartphones, tablets and computers and the 3rd band for 2.4 iot?

I am using a tri-band mesh network with a wired backhaul for normal devices but IOT is setup on a completely separate LAN using my old router.

Strange.

Newer model is smaller, higher amperage, and works out to $6/unit before tax (for 4)

Older unit works out to $7/unit

Seems like this breaks the laws of physics..

What's your favorite way to use these?

I just can't come up with a great use case for myself, but maybe I'm thinking too small. I cannot think of anything that I plug in that would benefit from voice control or a timer other than christmas lights. I have plenty of smart lights, and I find those useful.

I use them more like timers. I actually use them on my automatic chicken doors (I know) and setting them on sunrise/sunset is helpful. Also, anything you'd use a mechanical timer for goes out of wack if you loose power so this helps not needing to reset everything.

I have a waterproof led rope light outside on the deck I control with these. Instead of having to walk out there and turn it on, I just tell Alexa to turn on the outside lights (normally as I am walking out the door). At first I thought it was gimmicky, but now it would be annoying not to have.

I live in an apartment and the brand new GE refrigerator is running almost all the time and is fairly loud. I use the schedule feature of the app to automatically turn the fridge off from 8pm - midnight so I can read or watch TV in peace, and also use the remote on/off and timer feature to turn the fridge off if I'm on a conference call or otherwise bothered by the sound of the fridge. Fridge and freezer maintain temp even when switched off for these periods
