Very similar torque specs--13 has 1500in/lbs and 14 has 1550. Big difference is that this is 3 speed.

I'm convinced if a tool deal is posted, and the person uses the term "hackable" they don't actually have a need for the tool other than to resell it.
Well, I've never personally resold one of these deals. I have been able to build up a nice collection of quality tools, so I thought I would pay it forward.

I use this to make money and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Once you have this impact gun, you can buy the XPH07Z hammer drill/driver and you can cover most electrical installation jobs. You will need all manner of bit adapters, drill bits, hole saws, extensions... The list goes on. I dropped it off a roof once.

Sorry for my ignorance but what does "hackable" in this case mean anyway?

You can return the battery and keep the gun. because they actually give you half the price of the battery off the tool and half off the battery.

Funny considering you were trying to "part out" 5.0ah batteries from the Makita blower deal a month ago. Even funnier that you reference parting out what you don't need in other Makita driver combo threads. Just move on if you don't like the deal. No need to be a contradictory tool about it.
