This charger is pretty bad as you have to charge 2 or 4. I got an Energizer set from Costco recently and it came with a much better charger that can do 1 cell at a time. The LSD batteries in that set were 2000mA AAs and 800mA AAAs made in Japan -- not sure about the cells in this Amazon set as the listing doesn't give much detail.

Agreed that this is is not a good deal.

One of the reviews states "The bundled batteries only have a capacity of 1400 mAh. Most rechargeable batteries these days are rated for 2000 mAh or more. My fault for not reading the product information carefully enough. The bigger problem is that the batteries are based on old technology that suffers from rapid self-discharge. That means they'll go dead after 1-2 months regardless of what you're using them for. You know that TV remote that runs for years on a pair of alkalines? Well, get ready to change its batteries every month, if you use these."

Target's website says those are 2000mA cells, but if you zoom into the picture of the front of the item it says they are 1300mA. If the latter number is true they are probably made in China -- which means both the cells and charger aren't very good!
