Get a doorknob installation jig, which will come with the two holesaws you need.

No. This is not the regular price. This is not available year round. And it certainly doesn't go back 2 yrs. This is a brand new set with the new modular case. It's a 13 piece set with sizes up the 3". The sets that come under this price usually end at 2" to 2.5" max and are smaller sets.

Good deal, but unless you do something professionally where you require these sizes regularly, it's much better and cheaper to just buy the size you need at the time for the casual do-it-yourselfer.

Seems like a solid deal to me. They have 7,8,9 pc sets on sale around $20-30 at certain times of the year. I've never seen a 13pc for much cheaper than this.

Is this what I'd use to for installing door knobs & deadbolts on new doors? Are they the correct diameters? Note: fiberglass doors and steel covered wood doors.

I bought the larger kit (21-piece I think?) on a sale for less than this. I've never used it in the couple years I've had it. I can never actually find a size I need in it. Amusingly, I've had to buy 2 sizes that weren't included for the two projects I needed a hole-saw for. And like half of the items counted in the kit are the included arbor(s)/bits. I think my 21-piece kis has 13 actual hole saws in it. These are good quality, just maybe not as useful as I expected it to be when I bought it.

Yes, of the seven actual hole saws included, the common sizes of 1" and 1-1/8", as well as the 2-1/8" are included. If you use this set, drill just until the pilot bit comes through the door and then drill from the other side to stop splintering out of the wood or fiberglass. The key is holding and drilling perpendicular to the door. There is some slop in the locks, but not a lot, so you need to be pretty close.

Of course, the dedicated door lock installation kit mentioned that are same price at HD [homedepot.com] and others will be easier, but that is all it is good for. Nevertheless, if I had several doors to do and they are 1-3/4" or less in thickness, the door lock installation kits are well worth the money. You make one mark for center of lock and the clamp itself holds perpendicular. But, like with most all of these cheaper kits, you still want to drill from the other side once the pilot bit comes through to stop splintering. You then drill the hole for the latch and basically done with that part.

Note: The much more expensive commercial door lock installation sets will do thicker doors, have a clamp alignment on both sides (with a longer bushing on the drill side to maintain alignment) for one step drilling through with no splintering.

I picked up a 13 pieces hole dozer with the same price $39.99.
Includes 9 hole saw sizes, 3/4 in., 7/8 in., 1-1/8 in., 1-3/8 in., 1-1/2 in., 1-3/4 in., 2 in., 2-1/8 in. and 2-1/2 in., two arbors, 2 total pilot bits, hex key and case

This set has only 7 sizes.
Kit Includes: (7) Bi-Metal Hole Saws: (1) 1", (1) 1-1/8", (1) 1-1/4", (1) 2", (1) 2-1/8", (1) 2-1/2", (1) 3", (2) Arbor, (4) Pilot Bit
but doesn't have 3".

I don't know whether I should return and pick up the new set. The 3" alone is $15.00. Any thought ?

I don't care too much on additional arbor and pilot bit. More concern about the choice size. The old set has more in-between size, but missing 3" and some in-beween sizing.
