This is an awesome sprinkler controller I've never seen it this low of a price. You can also go to Lowe's and they will price match Amazon.

At this price I'm not concerned at all. In for one. Thanks to OP.
Well see, thats a general blanket misconception about all IOT devices. There are applications out there that let you control the devices outside of server service. Such as through home assistant. So even if the server goes down, you can still use home assistant with the local API.
They have been in business for at least 10 years.. I have to laugh when people say if a company drops support etc... Of course that is true but then you are not going to buy a lot things that depend on company support.
Further mine does not totally depend on the app, that is only for remote changes. I can do anything from the box I can do with the app just not remotely.
From my local utilities website...pro installation rebate even if only device needs installing..
"The reimbursable labor costs include all labor associated with the proper installation of the smart controller "
Also, Walmart has it at the same price in case you want to increase your return window to 90-days.
Actually, this system can run manually. So you have no risk of company going out of business. Also, Orbit has been around for decades. I really doubt they will be going out of business unlike some of the start ups on the market like sky drop who I paid $200 for a controller only to have two years later them asking to charge $2 a month for weather info to control sprinkler.
The bhyve does have an optional water measure thingy so it won't water if enough rain comes down, despite the weather predictions.
I got the 12zone bhyve couple? years ago.. only had 5 zones at the time. Been happy with it.
Have added 6 zones to my drip irrigation to each of my 6 garden beds. Love it.
Originally just did one zone for all beds, then got some cheap solenoids and bingo, all beds have individual drip irrigation.
B-hyve even has a wind delay and also freeze delay if needed. They just pull local weather info.
i would probably go with the orbit based on branding alone

So, what other parts do I need to buy if I am interested in automated like 6 hoses around the yard? I guess this is for those that have a real irrigation system vs. a bunch of hoses.
I see they sell this https://www.amazon.com/Orbit-B-hy...R8DJ&psc=1
But, it's about the same as this unit and it seems like it includes an app and a method of monitoring?
I just planned a bunch of trees in the front and back and looking for a way to water them 1-2x a day without worrying about forgetting.
Appreciated it!

I have one of these, it just works. I had one of the Skydrops also (Which went under) they were a bunch of investors, not a huge company that has a lot of income from their other business. Also, the b-hyve is a much better unit overall. I could never understand the Skydrop watering in the rain, etc... I thought that was why it was supposed to be "smart". The B-Hyve has cut water usage (over the Skydrop) and my lawn is greener than ever (weird, eh?).
So, I'm one who got burned by Skydrop, but I have no problem goin to orbit.. Orbit is the "big boy" and not some gadget maker... one of the "big 3" (Orbit, RainBird, and Toro) in the industry.

The one in this deal is not for hose application as it powers on/off a selinoid valve for in ground or for drip irrigation. The amazon link you attached would work depending on what your trying to achieve may require additional moduals or you can branch off one or more.
