Pretty sure these offers only exist in markets where comcast has a competitor.

The only offer for me is 50mbit for $69.99 or local TV + 100mb for $65, both on contract. I'm currently on 100mbit for $49. I could even cancel and sign-up on a new name for less. These offers are straight-up scams.

Every year I call to 'cancel' and ask for the same deal again. This is what it looks like when you have no competition.
What's the price after the year is up? That's where they get you.
You should be able to afford it Donald Glover!

Does anybody have a suggestion as far as what to do for those people like me that are in an Xfinity monopoly area??

I called them two days ago to see if I could renegotiate a new term and they offered $95 a month for 400 MB with unlimited data which I kind of need for work and my family is blowing through their data cap pretty quick... And I'm not sure I could stop that, lol.

I called them today and they offered $100 a month for the same so it went up five bucks.

Tomorrow I might try and go into the store and see what happens.

I do have CenturyLink available in my area but it's like 40 or 50 megabits per second. I'm only able to really reach speeds in 200-250mbps range (from the 400mb plan) because I have to bounce the signal pretty far through a couple mesh routers. I have to imagine 50 would turn into 15-20 pretty quick.
Don't negotiate. Call up, go to the cancel service department, threaten to cancel service if they won't offer you this deal or something close to it.

As a former employee, that will be your best bet to get a decent deal (they only wheel and deal if you're about to cancel service).

Is it just a regional thing that Xfinity will never let me view what the internet only price will be? As soon as I uncheck TV it says "0 offers available". It's done that forever. It won't tell me how much JUST internet is. It will only let me view prices of the TV/internet combo.

Is that normal?
I get 9 offers but the 400 Mbps internet is $96.

Called Comcast retentions.

Deal was the same as I was offered on the webpage which was 400mbps for $50 in San Jose. .....The only difference was the $10 discount was for 24 months with the Rep vs. 12 months on the webpage. I future dated the change the maximum allowable out to 6/1/21 since I have $50/200 right now and satisfied with it.

Rep told me he never heard of the $30/400 deal. YMMV.

If im reading right from other people's comments if you have a 1 year term agreement already on Xfinity and you change plans before it's expired, you won't get a early term termination fee? im on $35/mo for 100mbps and would go for $30/mo for 400mbps but my contract doesn't expire till August.
No termination as you aren't terminating service with them. You are altering the contract but you are still under contract.

wow! i even called in and they said the promo didn't exist for this area... wtf

were you able to click 'see all offers' because i can't seem to find that portion once i click on 'change plan'... it just goes directly to the 12 offers available to me none of which are the promos mentioned here
I don't recall clicking on "see all offers." Side note, I logged in through the website, not the app.

yup it was just a lil sus how they worded that "$70 for 24 months". During checkout it actually says "$80 for 24 months".
Like always, you can't trust what Comcast says.
I just checked my account after placing the order, and it now includes Xfinity TV - Pending activation. wtf?? I did not even order the Flex option.
True, true… never underestimate how evil and greedy Comcast can be! They have us all excited here for asymmetrical speeds and the possibility of "free" "unlimited" internet with their shady xFi because we've been f'd so bad for so long by these a holes that a glimmer of a better deal feels like we're winning if only for a moment…

If you never activate that tv stuff it should go away… the last deal I got I was supposed to take their voice service… but I just forgot about activating it and it disappeared… they even removed it from my bill. Guess I lucked out.

You could also try T-Mobile and see if that is an option to jump ship from Comcast. May be a better option in some areas. That said, a wired connection is usually hard to beat quality wise.

Any deal to get the unlimited? 1.2T cap is barely enough with WFH and 2 kids remote learning. I have to limit my movie streaming on the last week every month so that I don't have to pay extra. I've been paid $30 extra before once.
